Google to build $1 billion campus, double workforce in NYC

Alphabet Inc. said Monday it will spend $1 billion on a new New York City campus.

The move will allow the Mountain View-based tech giant and owner of Google Inc. to double its staff in N.Y.C. within a decade. 

The new campus, dubbed Google Hudson Square, will be based on Manhattan’s West Side near the Holland Tunnel and consist of 1.7 million square feet of office space spanning three buildings.

The news was confirmed by Google CFO Ruth Porat in a blog post.
