Fidelity evacuates downtown headquarters following fire

A fire broke out at Fidelity Investments’ downtown Boston headquarters Wednesday afternoon, prompting an evacuation.

The Boston Fire Department had ordered two alarms to 245 Summer St. as of 12:32 p.m. Wednesday, reporting heavy smoke in the rear of the building and “confirmed fire.” The Boston Police Department is directing traffic outside the 12-story office.
