December’s packed zoning meeting on Monday night saw several rezoning petitions approved, but one petition that would have brought affordable housing to Steele Creek was denied.
Charlotte City Council voted 10-1 against a petition by Elmington Capital Group, a developer out of Nashville, Tennessee, that would have added up to 231 apartments south of the intersection of Westinghouse Boulevard and South Tryon Street. Council member Braxton Winston voted against denying the petition.
