The Tampa Bay Rays have officially ended the agreement with St. Petersburg that allows the team to scout stadium sites in Hillsborough County.
The Rays’ general counsel sent Mayor Rick Kriseman a letter on Dec. 17 stating that the team was terminating its memorandum of understanding with St. Pete.
The letter is a formality after last week’s announcement by the Rays that a deal could not be reached with Hillsborough County for a new stadium between Ybor City and downtown Tampa’s Channel district.
