Memphis hopes to have rental property registry, renter's rights in place by 2020

The City of Memphis plans to put a rental property registry ordinance in front of the Memphis City Council by July 2019 — with hopes that the blight-fighting measure will be in place by the end of 2019.

“The goal is to have the ordinance ready for [the City Council] by no later than July,” said Memphis Public Works Director Robert Knecht on Thursday, Dec. 27.
