KC Council to take up incentives for River Market mixed-use project

The Kansas City Council on Thursday is scheduled to take up a long-discussed project that would turn a block of surface parking in the River Market into a transit-oriented development.

On the council’s agenda is an ordinance authorizing the city manager to to negotiate a development agreement with the Kansas City Area Transportation Authority (KCATA) and Briarcliff Development Co. in relation to the financing and construction of the development at Third Street and Grand Avenue.
