Kaiser receives crucial approval to pave way for 61,000-square-foot campus in West Berkeley

Berkeley City Council voted 6-3 to allow a zoning change at the corner of Parker and Tenth Streets that would pave the way for Kaiser Permanente to open a new medical campus on the site, Berkeleyside reports.

The issue split the council because Kaiser’s plans to move into a proposed new suite of medical offices to be built on the site are far from definite. All that the integrated managed care provider has done thus far is submit a letter of intent to the city, and some council members were concerned…
