Ikea closes on land in Houston's Generation Park

The Netherlands-based Ikea, one of the world’s largest furniture distributors, closed on more than 100 acres in Generation Park.

Ikea bought a 117.41-acre tract from McCord Development, according to documents filed with the Harris County Clerk’s office. The deal closed on Nov. 6. Ikea also bought an additional 26.02 acres in Generation Park that will be used for Ikea’s utility easements, per the records.
