The city’s planning, design and development department is heading up a lobby renovation of the Charlotte Mecklenburg Government Center in uptown to build a “one-stop shop,” where a staff member from city departments involved in the often permitting process will be available to work with developers. The goal of the project in the city’s adopted budget for fiscal year 2019 is to provide “timely, accurate answers that quickly move projects forward.”
