Have you ever thought about how you might find your way to a hardware store if you couldn’t consult Google for the nearest Home Depot?

Well, in the late 1800s and early 1900s you could have relied on painted, billboard-sized ads on the sides of downtown buildings. These now-fading murals advertised everything from blacksmiths and furnaces, to law and insurance offices.
