Newsmaker of the Year: Holly Sullivan was Nashville's inside track to Amazon

When Jeff Bezos decided to create a $5 billion second corporate headquarters with 50,000 jobs, one of the people he trusted most was Holly Sullivan. Amazon’s director of worldwide economic development, Sullivan was born and raised in Nashville, graduated from Harpeth Hall School, and returned after college to spend 13 years leading job-creation efforts in Wilson and Rutherford counties. This year, she’s the Nashville Business Journal’s Newsmaker of the Year.
