Burlington council pursues grant to attract 'Project Fiber'

An undisclosed company is considering downtown Burlington for its headquarters, creating 33 jobs with an average salary of $70,455.

On Tuesday, the Burlington City Council voted to apply for a N.C. Commerce Building Reuse Grant of $325,000 for “Project Fiber.” If the state approves the grant, the council must approve a 5 percent local match – $16,250.
