Former Hawaii Lt. Gov. joins group farming former A&B lands on Maui

Former Hawaii Lt. Gov. Shan Tsutsui has been named senior vice president of operations of Mahi Pono LLC, the company that recently purchased 41,000 acres of former sugar cane land from Alexander & Baldwin Inc.

Tsutsui, who stepped down from Gov. David Ige’s administration nearly a year ago to take a job on Maui with the lobbying firm Strategies 360, will lead Mahi Pono’s farming venture on Maui, the company said in a release on Sunday. Tsutsui had worked as an advisor to the group in its purchase…
