Wondering if we made a mistake (Des Moines, WA)

We finally had an opportunity to put in a competitive offer somewhere 2 weeks ago, but decided not to after having some doubts that the issues we became aware of were something we could deal with.

The most concerning issues:

The backyard floods, and it when it rains hard it floods the basement. The current owners tore out and replaced some of the walls, and it would be up to the buyer to finish the basement.

Electrical issues. Loose electrical items, and several 3 prong receptacles were ungrounded. Advice from family was that much of the electrical might need to be completely replaced.

It’s too late for this house now, but as we are first time home buyers and this is a learning process for what kind of issues could be a serious money pit, I’m interested to hear any perspectives. Some background, I’m not afraid of some manual labor such as finishing a basement, and I would have been okay with spending ~50k to solve all of these issues.
