For example, we have a serious house shortage issue in Bellevue/Redmond areas in Washington. But if I drive a little away from populated areas, I see flat spaces that are completely empty or land filled with trees. Why don’t they just build more houses there? Are the cities trying to control the house counts by not giving permits or delaying issuing permits so that house pricing is maintained or nature is maintained? (I hear people say it takes a long time to get permits to build houses.) If so, are they doing this so that they get more property tax?
