I live in a really hot real estate market. Multiple houses in my area have been selling within a week. I’ve encountered 2 homes of interest now that have accepted pending offers days before the open house, with the seller then cancelling the open house. One house was only on the market for a single day. My question is, why? Why not wait around for more offers? I can’t imagine a motivated buyer walking away due to a few extra days of waiting for a response on their offer.
