I’ve been doing some browsing on the real estate subs lately and it seems to be a war of the haves versus the have Nots. I suppose in a way the country has been divided this way for quite a long time.
For the people who can’t afford a house or may have gotten priced out of the market it seems to be a common theme that it’s someone else’s fault they can no longer buy a house.
I’ve seen people say it was black rocks fault for buying all the properties to rent them. Or maybe it’s the evil hedge funds who are greedy trying to get the best returns possible for their investment even if it means hurting the little guy.
Maybe it’s those crooked politicians with their dirty policies. Perhaps it’s the Fed printing money into oblivion causing inflation?
This might be an unpopular opinion and I’m sorry for anyone who doesn’t agree.
The truth is the fact that you can’t buy a house is your own fault.
All of the things I’ve mentioned before are completely out of your control. There is absolutely nothing you can do it to reverse what has already happened and the only thing you can do is except the current conditions and adapt.
The people buying and thriving in this market are NOT The people blaming external circumstances for their less than ideal situation. This actually goes for most things in life, People who are extremely successful or self made very rarely blame their situation on External circumstances or things out of their control.
I won’t deny that it’s extremely unfortunate that there is a class or multiple classes of our society that have extreme difficulty growing out of generational poverty. I have actually grown Up in poverty dealing with generations of drug addiction within the family as well as homelessness and time in incarceration.
The point of this post isn’t to further divide people by what they have in the bank account. It’s a message to the people who aren’t in the situation they may have dreamed of and are blaming it on other people or don’t understand why.
I challenge anyone with big dreams they haven’t been able to achieve yet to stop blaming external circumstances and two instead adapt to the current situation and build a game plan moving forward that is going to set you up to achieve the goals you know you can.
In my opinion blaming other people or policies for your current situation is the mindset of a have-not.
Instead of saying “I can’t buy a house because of “insert reason”. It’s time to say “the policies & odds might be stacked against me, but I’m going to come out a winner regardless. Set a game plan with smaller goals in between and follow it to a T. If you do this there is no reason you shouldn’t be able to achieve that goal unless you don’t put in the Effort required to manifest that vision.
There’s actually a lot of science and philosophy I could go into about how important having the right mindset and vision is. Your mindset is probably the biggest factor of anything in determining where you’re going to be in life.
