How do you know when to get a new realtor? This is my first time buying a home, and it’s on the other side of the country, so that’s an added wrinkle. I mostly just picked a realtor that looked good on paper (had good ratings/reviews and lots of homes bought/sold), but I’m not sure how to judge her performance. We’ve sent her 10-12 places so far that we thought had good potential to set a tour and get an offer in, but so far we’re 0 for 12 in even starting the process at all. And, I actively monitor multiple real estate websites, so I’m sending her the properties within hours of them first being listed, but every time it’s “I’m sorry, I reached out but that property is off the market now.”
I don’t know how this process works, or if that’s an ok hit-rate, but I was already a little confused when she just told me to send her links to houses I like and she’d look into them. Shouldn’t she be finding houses for me and showing me good ones that I actually have a shot at, or is that just a tv thing? I’m not sure how to judge how well or poorly this process is going.
