What’s the proper “goodbye” etiquette to the agent when you go to an open house and decide you’re not making an offer?

If I go to an open house and know I’m not going to make an offer, is it polite to tell the agent that? Or just quietly slink out, not saying anything?

Does it depend on whether it’s a crowded open house or if I’m the only one in there? Should I just say “goodbye, thank you” and leave them in the dark about whether I’ll be making an offer?

Part of me assumes the agents don’t want to hear an explanation from me bashing the house or explaining what I don’t like about it. Especially if other visitors are within earshot.

But I don’t know, maybe they do want “constructive feedback” and to know why a house isn’t getting offers and to be able to accurately advise their client “I expect we may get X offers based on Y viewings” or “I recommend you strongly consider the offer we got because 5 of the 8 visitors today specifically told me they won’t make an offer, etc.”

Would the agent be internally rolling his/her eyes and saying “Why is this dude telling me why he’s not going to buy the house” or would the agent be thinking “I appreciate the info because it helps me to understand how to market the house and set the seller’s expectations”?
