In 2019, we were looking at a particular neighborhood and ended up putting an offer on a house we suspected was overvalued. We included an appraisal clause and it came in vastly under asking (expensive market). They refuse to come down. We walk away and buy a different, larger house in the same neighborhood. Meanwhile, they rent it for two years. It’s back on the market with the same realtor listed at the now-estimated value of our house but suddenly they have it 500 square foot larger (it’s not the largest floor plan in our neighborhood, but now it’s listed as THE largest). What are the ethics of the realtor here, I’m kind of mad, to be totally honest. I think this is a disservice to much of the neighborhood and maybe to me. I’m considering emailing the agent, but also know square footage is very fluid. Any other course of action here?
