Brief timeline, agent was chosen by company that would assist us with down payment. Dude was really strong in the beginning, you know, “oh i got friends, we’ll have it sold in no time” then three months go by, we see that he listed it online but it was just pictures, no description. Most listings have something like “this beautiful home yadayada” but our listing had nothing.
Like a stock plummeting, he was pretty unresponsive. Initially he told us to spruce the place up, like pressure washing the home, which we did. That’s all he suggested.
Months go by, we decide to talk to the people who assigned him and instead of listening to our concerns, they say we aren’t doing enough, we should consider painting the inside. It felt like, “hey, we feel like he’s not doing enough, here are some reasons.” and being told “No, YOU aren’t doing enough”
Anywho, we got another Buyer, inspection is done. AC needs Freon. Mind you, by this point we’ve done the painting, and paid for the inspection, as well as dropped our price by roughly 7%. The buyer wants us to pay to have the AC serviced(would be another 100$ min) and Agent is pressuring us to sign, despite the fact we have told him since the beginning(about 8 months now) that we are selling AS-IS.
We can do the Freon, but it feels like we’ve enough as it is, and they can still backout, we’d just keep the earnest money.
idk, what do you think about all this?
definitely getting a new agent after this.
