FTHB here. Under contract for a townhouse built in 2018, one previous owner. Overall I’m pretty good condition, owner had a tiny dog that peed a few places upstairs on the baseboard, we noticed that during the initial showing. Not a huge deal. Agent confirmed it was a senior dog that was left alone a lot. We also noticed one light figure was burnt out (or so we thought at the time). During inspection today, it turns out that the light fixture was filled completely w water for at least a few months and is no longer useable. We contacted the sellers realtor to tell her as water damage wasn’t previously discussed.
the seller said there was a leak when she first moved in that was fixed by builder but no other problems in the last 2 years and the leak must be new. However looking at the photos on Zillow of the listing, you can Clearly tell it’s been like this for awhile, and inspector confirmed The water had been standing for awhile. Sellers realtor told us to get a plumber out to double check everything, but just want to make sure I’m not missing anything? Thank you in advance!
