Va appraiser low balls property NC

Recently bought and property in the 28211 zip code. Homes in this zip range from 650k to 2 million. Market Trend is going up. Home was priced at 624k, and appraisal came in at 610k. Appraiser used data that was several months old for some of the comps. Prices of hikes were under contract for 8 plus months before they closed because they were new construction. Because NC is a sue diligence state we had to put a large enough fee to sellers to even be considered to purchase the home. Home is very close to downtown, shops, major hospital etc. Seller did not want to lower price because it’s a sellers market and it was sold within the correct price point for the area. Don’t have time to wait for another appraisal so stuck paying the 14k difference.

Will be filing a formal complaint about this company to the va because of the loss of money. I’m a 100% disabled veteran abs basically was forced to dip into my savings to purchase or lose all our money in due diligence.

Anyone from Charlotte nc knows the market there is hot! House STILL sold for the asking price which means it now becomes a comp for another come. The appraiser did nothing but try to screw us as veteran buyers.

If your in North Carolina. Don’t bother using VA. Use another loan or risk being low balled and out of pocket more than you need to.
