They declined our offer, asking for full price. We immediately moved on and placed a bid on another home (again, less than the original asking price), and got accepted (close in 1 week). The first house is about to have their 3rd open house (on the market for 30+ days), and just reduced their price by a mere 5%. We’re still sticking with the home that accepted our offer, but wondering if this could be a sign of the market cooling? The first house is AWESOME, just over priced, so I somewhat feel bad that they haven’t sold it yet (don’t know if they haven’t had any offers or not high enough). The home we are buying needs some work, but we’re excited for it, and when it’s done, it will be better than the first one. One thing I have learned about sales is that often times, the first offer you get is the best one.
