My wife and I are under contract to buy a successful short term rental. During our inspection we found an issue that should be repaired in the near future. Even though this item isn’t at the point of imminent failure, the liability concerns me.
There are two fixes available. One will completely fix everything at a cost of 50k. The other fix is half the price but will remove a feature of the house. I’d prefer the higher price repair and expect that I’m going to be the one facilitating the project since the sellers won’t have time to do so before closing.
What would you ask for in compensation?
