We purchased a home in 2020. Today we received a notice from the township that we are being fined for an un-permitted HVAC installation. The HVAC was installed by the previous owner months prior to the home even being listed for sale. The un-permitted work was never disclosed to us. As the current owners, are we responsible for paying that fine?
