Exploring options and thinking about the future and wondering if this is potentially a solid plan–
we were going to buy a cheapo starter home just to not be renting anymore and while our side business gets going and we save money. after a few years we were gonna start looking for 10 plus acres and build a home on that.
now I am actually looking at land and wow it’s cheaper here in NY than in WA where we were looking. I am aware that putting a modular home on land is a lot more than the price of the home itself. there is foundation, power, water, all sorts of fiddly details. my question is, realistically how much would we be looking at total when buying land to the tune of $60k for 20 acres, and then a modular for $70k, for it to be move in ready? I see websites that want to charge for a total estimate but I just need a ballpark to see if this is a feasible plan for us, years down the road. thank you in advance
