I planned on protesting my property value for the home we just purchased, but found that though the market value they have in their documents is higher than what we paid (they have it down as what it was listed for and not what we actually paid which was 15k less), other things are also incorrect but in our favor. For example, they don’t include a 1/2 bathroom, they say the house was last updated in 2008, though it was flipped (horribly) in 2020 (that counts as updating, yes?), and the photos they have of the home are very old (it looks outdated and a little run down)
Should I just cut my losses and leave it as is for now? In addition, our neighbor who is an attorney said that unlike earlier years she had no luck lowering the value this year, so I don’t think we’ll fare much better.
