Should I call it quits on my realtor? He always seems too busy.

I live in an area with a very hot market. We’ve been working with our realtor for a month now in our homebuying process.

The guy is very nice and knowledgeable, taught us so many things we didn’t know, but he always goes MIA for days.

First time he went MIA he said his daughter was sick in the hospital. I felt bad about that. Life happens.

Second time he went MIA he said HE was sick. And he did sound sick on the phone. In the back of my head I’m wondering why he couldn’t just text to let us know in the 3 days he went MIA but maybe he was too sick….

Now this most recent time. I put an offer on a house I liked. I signed the As Is contract he emailed me on Monday morning. It’s now Wednesday and I have not heard from him at all, not even a “Great you signed it, I’ll get back to you!” acknowledgement. I sent him a text yesterday asking for an update. Nothing. I wonder when he does contact me back what excuse he’ll have.

I can easily dump this guy but I’m just worried that all realtors in my area are like this. Constantly busy with meetings, or closings, or other clients. And when I DO have this guys attention he is very nice and knowledgeable, and I can talk on the phone with him for upwards of an hour.

I’m just so torn. I don’t trust him with time. He’s not the kind of realtor I think I can email a listing to and he get back to me in a timely manner.
