Prior to purchase of our house, the seller agreed to repair a leaky roof. This was done by a certified contractor whom the seller chose and paid. It’s been about 2 months and a few days of rainfall has shown us that the roof was not properly repaired (perhaps only superficially). We never had the inspector return to go into the roof to check the repair—definitely our mistake. We have all paperwork, however. Researching the contractor they look to have quite poor reviews and lots of complaints of improper work.
What options do we have? Do we start by calling the shoddy contractor, since the work will be under warranty? Do we go a different avenue? We’re a bit lost. We got contacted our real estate agent but I’d appreciate second opinions. Thanks.
