My sister got a new job in Irvine,CA and need to relocate there. And I’ve seen her going crazy trying to rent a place at a decent price. All of the landlords are telling her “there are like 40 applicants, and half of them offered over the asked rent with 6 months up front”. Most are around 4200 3 bedrooms house.
Landlords love single applicants (like solo, not martial). They don’t like co applicants it seems. And most of the houses are getting applicants who are offering over the asking rent! ( I actually don’t know what the insentient is).
She’s been to 20 showings and she either had to submit the app upfront or be competitive enough and pay over and x months upfront.
Is it only crazy in Irvine? Or is this everywhere in major cities.
