Rent to own

Hey guys looking for some advice, not sure if this is the best sub to post this in but anyways maybe y’all can direct me. So my husband and I currently live in a 4 bedroom house in Florida in a great area and we love it. We pay $1250 a month! We got in it right before the market sky rocketed in 2020. We currently don’t have the best credit, like at all 🥴 we are both in our very early 30’s and paying for all the mistakes we made in our 20’s, so to speak, that being said it would be very difficult for us to get approved for any type of decent loan at the moment for a decent house with the market so high (we’ve tried) we both have excellent jobs and make decent money. We’re really interested in renting to own the house we currently live in, can anyone give me some insight on how We could go about this? Should we offer a lump some of some sort or down payment? What questions should we ask the owner? Halp…..
