Realtors are not on your side

I’m generally against realtors on average but I have a recent experience to share, so hold on before you brokers downvote.

I reach out to the listing office of a home that was listed. Ask for a virtual tour and plan to make an offer. Would like to make the offer turn around of 24 hours.

Agent says hi sure I’ll help but seller is doing 7 days to decide. Hell work on photos in meantime.

He sends the mls and that’s it. No photos just the simple sheet.

Then comes back and says another buyer made an offer with 24 hours turnaround so we gotta sprint. We sprint to set up the offer.

He calls back says lawyers looked at acceptance before the 7 days because the listing said it would stay there for 7, they can’t accept early ( likely a ploy to string me and the other offer to the end just incase).

I say idc I still want to make it for 24 hours, realtor is fighting me on this and instead saying I should make it retractable at any time. I’m on the fence.

Then we get to documents to sign and there’s a 200 dollar fee for the buyer…for what? Arguing with me on when to offer and not even getting me a virtual? No just no. I can extend my offer without the realtor, save the seller commission. And do my 24 hour turnaround.
