My family member is getting ready to sell the home they’ve been in for 40 years. Great location, but it needs cosmetic updates. It has the original carpet, needs to be painted, etc. A local agent is offering to front $20k-$25k to make these basic updates in the hopes that it will bring in an additional $50k-75k more for a selling price. Has anyone heard of anything like this before? I’ve bought and sold two homes but this is a new one for me.
