I bought my first home last year on the outskirts of a suburb. There are many houses around on the north side of my road, but on the south side there’s just farm fields. However, the city bought out all of the farmland and they’re putting many commercial buildings in there. Looks like it’ll be giant blocks of shops. The closest shops right now are only 5 minutes away that consist of Target, Cub, Menards, Walmart, Homegoods, etc.
Question if anyone has any guesses how this will affect my home value?
