This might be an ignorant question as I’m a n00b, but if you are buying a house, is your agent really on your side? My understanding is that they will take a commission out of the house (2.5%), so wouldn’t they want the price to be as high as possible so the 2.5% results in higher $$ in commission for them? On the other hand, you as the buyer would want the lowest price possible. How does this work? Can you trust your agent?
