TL;DR: When searching for liens on a property, what exactly do you need to check to make sure you’re not missing any liens. I’m not versed in real estate lexicon to know how to phrase a good question here.
I have the opportunity to purchase a plot of land confiscated due to overdue taxes owed to the town the plot is in. The plot is on a road where a number of folks I know live.
These friends and associates warned me of credit card debt liens filed against the property. I searched the county records and only found liens on file for unpaid taxes.
I’m writing this forum to ask if there’s a protocol or a standard procedure to follow when searching for liens to make sure I’m not missing something.
