Need some advice on crappy neighbor

Hello everyone, my across the street and a couple houses down neighbor blasts his music 16-18 hours a day, 6 days a week with breaks, and Sunday only half day. He plays drums and whiny guitar, he thinks he is a musician but he is unemployed. On Tuesday he got a new subwoofer.

You know the drill, the music shakes my house all day I work from home. While it would be wonderful to simply move, this is a tenant who will be evicted eventually most likely within the next year. I own my home. I would love to not move.

When I asked him very politely, he was really cool about it, but let me know that he is on first name basis with the sheriffs because they come out that often to his house. Since he is a renter, there’s not much that the city can do besides ask him to turn it down.

Throw me any advice, even if it’s to move, if you know anything about soundproofing, if you’ve ever gone through the process of documenting, or anything at all that can give me a little bit of sanity. Thank you in advance.
