My husband and I have been trying to purchase a home for a few months now. This is our first home so it’s certainly a rough market to be in. Our most recent offer was on a home that had been listed for 2 months now. It’s very dated and the entire place needs to be redone. We love projects so this would be great for us. Its been on the market for 2 months so we did put an offer in below list. They seller rejected. We asked the listing agent for comps to support the list price. They sent a few homes that were wayyy nicer. 2 even sold for less than our prospective house was listed for. We really love this home and out of all the offers we have lost, this one stung the most. Do we walk away? Knowingly overpay? Wait a few more weeks and re-approach? Stop looking for a house all together? We are feeling pretty discouraged .
