Title. Never fully went through with the offer after someone contacted me, just clicked some buttons to see if it would spit out a preliminary offer just to get an idea what I’d get from them. A rep from Zillow texted me, and I told them I just wanted a ballpark number to see, but of course they never gave me an estimated number, asked if they could call me for more information, etc, which I didn’t have time for. Well, 7 weeks has passed, and the market in the locale has appreciated since then, with more and more comps flowing in. There’s no way the Zestimate would still be the same given the comps of recently solds. I mean, I am pretty sure I know what my house is currently worth, as several comps within a half mile radius with the exact floor plan and similar options has sold recently.
Just FYI, thought it was a dirty move by Zillow. I guess they could just be trying to get the most house for the lowest dollar and using the Zestimate as a bargaining tool, and freezing the Zestimate when the inquiry comes (in an appreciating market)
