AmeriHome sold my loan to PHH Mortgage. Starting September 1, all my payments need to go to PHH Mortgage. To start preparing, I downloaded all my AmeriHome documents to keep records. I have a copy of my property tax bill from last year. I disabled auto-payments on AmeriHome’s website. What else am I missing?
I also tried creating an account on PHH Mortgage’s site using the information that AmeriHome sent. However, my loan transfer was not recognized. I suspect that my first payment will be via check. Do I send my first check payment via certified mail? The letter states that I have a 60-day window to get my payments setup with the new mortgage servicer, so at least, I’ll have some buffer for snail mail.
I’m assuming that my property tax and homeowner’s insurance info will carry over. I don’t remember doing anything with my county tax office. I don’t remember what I did for homeowner’s insurance. I think I just gave AmeriHome the insurance information.
