My agent is a good friend of mines mother, who is seriously annoying me. Should I switch agents?

You should know, I work in a different facet of sales.

A good buddy of mines mom is who I selected as my real estate agent. Im 24, looking for my first home. Im considering switching realtors as I feel she’s not looking out for my best interest like I would if the roles were flipped. Here are my reasons:

I am very much into cars, garage space is my top priority (more so than the actual home). I need a minimum of a 2 car garage on the property (I personally own 4 cars, three are convertibles so one already needs to get sold, plus my girlfriends daily driver, totaling 5 cars). I have done my best to politely make this abundantly clear to my realtor. However, she continues to send me listing after listing without a single garage or any other out building.

When we go to look at a home (realtor, gf, me) she does not stop talking the entire time. Start to finish she will just ramble on, which gives me zero opportunity to discuss anything with my girlfriend without blatantly ignoring the realtor, where she just interjects shortly thereafter.

She is constantly recommending I place an offer WAY above asking price. Ive looked at maybe 8 homes and made offers on two, and she always pushes for us to offer 20-25% above asking price. I have told her I am very frugal, which is why I am in the financial position I am in today. Paying that much above asking price (unless I am absolutely in love with the place) is not something I’m interested in doing. She then compares my situation to other clients of hers and how they just “accept” this current market and ultimately pay 20-25% over asking price, which makes me even more upset with the situation.

She has adjusted the deadlines on my offers. I would make an offer on a Friday night requesting to here back by Sunday night or my offer is void. I got a call mid day that Sunday saying that she extended my offer until Wednesday because the seller wants to see what else comes in. Like, NO.

Ive known her for well over a decade and did not expect to be treated as any other client of hers but rather to kind of be taken care of here. I feel my interests are being ignored worse because she thinks she can be lax since we know each other.

Am I being outrageous in my expectations, do I need to tone back? How would yall handle this?
