Hello, I’m looking for a multifamily home in Michigan. I found one home that has a 2 bedroom unit upstairs and a 1 bedroom unit downstairs. The only issue is in the listing it states the the lower unit is commercial only.
I’m just wondering even if I were to use the lower unit privately (not rent it out) would I have to have it rezoned for residential use? And if so, how much of a headache would that be in Michigan?
