(Read this post to get the backstory.)
We are no longer working with this originator. We have decided to go to Citizens Bank, and today was to get financial documents back to be used over there.
We met with the originator today in a coffee shop that he does his work in usually (I guess), and I asked him a simple question that was along the lines of “What is it you do with the application form, after all this?”. He immediately says “You have no idea what you’re talking about, you’ve never worked in this industry”, made rude comments saying how he spent so much time helping us, that my dad interrupted his vacation, etc. Saying my dad called him “like 30 times” to imply my dad annoyed him, implying he was amazing for saying how he understood how hard it was my dad lost his wife, etc etc etc. We ended up leaving because I started to lose my temper and talk back to him like how he was talking to me, not smart but he was just rambling implying I’m stupid and my dad wasted his time, etc. Just so insanely weird and rude for what was just a refinance. I swear I did not start anything, I asked him what happens with the form that my dad has his social security number on. Even if it’s paranoid, it’s not a very rude question.
It turns out he didn’t give my dad everything back, he kept the application form which I guess is standard, but my dad needed bank statements that showed 3 months worth back from him, and a social security award letter. My dad called him later and the guy said he would check into it, but I have no idea. This guy is so, so odd. What can I do if he doesn’t give them back? Can he mail them to us? Can I report him to NMLS, or something? His mortgage company seems really bootleg, so I don’t know what would come of contacting them.
