My wife and I purchased a home in August that, in the initial listing, described the home as having a “dry crawl space.”
In the inspection, it was noted that there was mold/mildew on the wood supports in the crawl space. We asked that the mold/mildew be remediated prior to execution of the contract.
We were provided information by the sellers that the mold in the crawl space had been remediated by the use of bleach.
After purchasing the home, we noticed a mold-like smell emitting from the crawl space and had it inspected. We were told that there was mold in the crawl space and that remediation would be $4,200.
Is there any recourse for the sellers for not remediating the mold/mildew prior to selling the home?
