Market Conditions and Building a Forever Home

My SO (27M) and I (25F) just bought a property that we’re going to start paying off while we prepare to build our forever home. Our original timeline was to wait until 2023 to begin actually planning and building. With recent market speculation and talks of preparing for a recession at work, it has me worried now that we’ve invested 150k solely in land. My main question that I can’t seem to find an answer to is in regards to building – Will it be better to wait until a market crash to build? I know some speculate there will be one, many articles say there won’t, but I don’t really believe that. Will prices be cheaper during that time? Common sense tells me yes, but things lately have not been very “common” and it worries me that we might get fucked no matter what. I just want some opinions from those who know more. I don’t want to read another speculation article that doesn’t my question and makes me 20x more anxious😅
