Indianapolis is one of the biggest cities in the US. All the cities around it, population wise, have had a huge housing boom. Most of these places, you need at least $400,000 for a starter home…outside the city. Meanwhile, $250,000 will get you something nice with some land in Indianapolis. Maybe even cheaper depending on the area and your wants. Most won’t ever have to spend more than $300,000. While similar homes in other large markets would be over double that.
On Google searches for affordable homes in large cities, and even on here, Indianapolis is never mentioned. What am I missing? Lots of other Midwestern cities get mentioned, all smaller, and not even cheaper. So whats the deal with Indianapolis?
Here’s one great starter home under $200,000 I found on the first page of a search down below.
For clarification, I’ve only been to Indianapolis once briefly for a business trip and don’t know anyone there or have any inclination to go there, but now it seems more intriguing.
