Let’s say I purchase a home from the 60’s or 70’s. I replace the cabinets. Install granite countertops. Maybe knock down a wall to open up the floor plan. I could even add a shed to the lot.
Long story short, is it worthwhile to do straightforward but still valuable upgrades/mods to a property in anticipation of selling the property 5-10 years down the line?
Similarly, I could plan to simply refi eventually (such as if it is a rental).
Will the property appreciate more than the cost of the additions? Any thoughts? Thanks!
