There is a condo building in my city that has 6 units up for sale and I viewed them all this weekend with a redfin agent that I had no prior relationship with by doing the redfin “book a tour” thing.
While viewing the units one of them had a listing agent there (not a redfin person) and we got to talking and I think this person would be a much better buyer’s agent for me than the one that redfin used for my “book a tour”. This agent knows a lot about the ins and outs of this particular building and has been an agent/broker for 20 years, while the redfin person has been an agent for 2-3 years.
I’m interested in one of the condo units in this building — not the one that this agent is associated with.
Is it ethical for me to work with this other agent as my buyer’s agent instead of the redfiin agent? I don’t have any signed agreement with redfin but do they have some kind of claim on me if I were to purchase a condo in this building — now that I used one of their agents to tour the units in this condo building?
