Is a New Countertop Worth it for Appraisal?

I’ve updated literally everything cosmetically in my house, top to bottom, in the last 10 months except the ugly, brown laminate countertop in the kitchen. The rest of the house is white or a shade of gray, with some accent colors here and there. Naturally this countertop that screams early 00’s (house was built in 08) sticks out like a sore thumb.

I’m looking to get an appraisal soon to see if the home’s value has increased enough to get the PMI dropped. Is it going to benefit me to drop the $2500-$3000 to get a new granite or quartz countertop put in?
